Murano-inspired flowering art marbles My-Glassmarbles

🌸 Marble Art Floraison: a breath of Murano inspiration in the palm of your hand

Marble Art floraison white 22 mm

At My-glassMarbles, each new family of Marbles is a small revolution.

And this time, we invite you to discover a colorful collection: the Marbles Art floraison.

These Marbles are true miniature jewels. Made of classic glass, they are decorated with multicolored floral patterns, like bursts of spring frozen in a sphere.

Available in two sizes (16 mm and 22 mm) and two dominant shades (white or yellow), they evoke both the delicacy of a bouquet and the power of a work of art.

🏛️ Murano: an island shaped by fire and tradition

Island of Murano

A few steps from Venice, the island of Murano has been a major center of glass art since the 13th century.

These are the furnaces installed there to protect the Serenissima from fires that almost accidentally gave birth to one of Europe's greatest artisanal know-hows.

The glassmakers of Murano invented or perfected exceptional techniques: filigree glass, blown glass, crystal glass... and of course, the famous murrine.

These colored glass rods, assembled then sliced to reveal floral or geometric patterns, are emblematic of Venetian aesthetics.

👥 A story of transmission: Colleoni and Zanetti

Portrait of Vincenzo Zanetti Portrait of Antonio Colleoni

This tradition has survived through the centuries thanks to the transmission of knowledge. And this is where two major figures come in: Antonio Colleoni and Vincenzo Zanetti.

In 1861, Antonio Colleoni, then mayor of Murano, and the abbot Vincenzo Zanetti, passionate about the history of glass, together founded the Murano Glass Museum.

This museum's mission is to preserve knowledge, objects, techniques... in short, the memory of an art endangered at the time.

Zanetti goes even further: the following year he founded a school attached to the museum, intended to teach young glassmakers drawing and the history of glass.

Even today, this school bears its name: the Scuola del Vetro Abate Zanetti.

🏺 Fratelli Toso: a flagship of Venetian creation

Work in the Fratelli Toso style

From July 12 to November 24, 2025, the Murano Glass Museum hosts an exceptional exhibition: "Factory stories. Family stories. The Toso Brothers."

Created in 1854, the glassworks Fratelli Toso is one of the most emblematic of Murano.

Its story is that of a family of artisans, designers, master glassmakers... who, generation after generation, have known how to innovate without ever betraying the spirit of Murano.

The exhibition highlights many creative figures, including:

  • Ermanno Toso, artistic director of the renewal of classic murrine in the post-war period
  • Pollio Perelda, designer with very modern pictorial inspirations
  • Rosanna Toso, the only woman in the history of the house to have held an artistic director position

Through sketches, original pieces, and unpublished archives, the exhibition allows understanding how murrine became an art in its own right. An art that sometimes echoes our floral Marbles, through their structure, their brilliance, their depth.

🎒 What if we went further?

Facade of the Murano Glass Museum

The Art blooming Marbles are available individually, like all our art Marbles.

They can be used in decoration, artistic creation, or simply for the pleasure of owning one — or several.

They look like eternal flowers that one could keep in their pocket.

And if you have the chance to travel to Italy, we can only recommend that you visit the Murano Glass Museum.

This is not a frozen museum, but a living place, constantly evolving, carrying a universal story: that of hands, fire... and glass.
